'Muck And Dirt Freelanders' Membership
There are two levels of membership within the club, as detailed below.
If you would like to join MAD Freelanders use the following buttons, either download and print out
the form and post it to us with your payment, or use the two buttons on the right and do it all online.
Associate Membership
Joining Fee : £5.00 (renewable annually)
Benefits : On joining as an Associate Member you will receive the Code of Conduct, Club Regulations, Membership Card, Associate Membership Entitlement Guide.
Offroad Events : As an Associate Member costs to take part in all club-run offroad events will be £15.00 for one day or £25.00 for the weekend.
Full Membership (only available after first joining as an Associate)
Joining Fee : £15.00 (renewable annually)
Benefits : As above, plus M.A.D window sticker and use of GLASS affiliation benefits.
Offroad Events : As a Full Member costs to take part in all club related offroad events will be £5.00 for the day or £10.00 for the weekend.
All new members join initially as an Associate member. Associate membership is a bit like 'Pay As You Go' with a mobile phone, you only pay to come offroad when you like (maybe once a year) but it costs you a little more.
Upgrading to Full Membership is at the discretion of the committee, and can only happen after you have been on at least one full weekend greenlaning event with us. This may sound elitist but it enables us to keep the standards of careful driving we like to promote - sensible and responsible offroad drivers do not get refused Full Membership. Once upgraded it will entitle you to the offroad events at a reduced rate and other Full Member benefits.
The reason you are asked to pay to come on the events is to cover the costs of those that do the ground work of researching the routes and checking they are driveable; please bear in mind a little more is involved than just looking at a map and saying "let's drive there". All our events are planned a several months in advance, and all the routes are checked before hand; this involves a lot of time and cost to the person running the event.
